The other day I ordered a Pizza from Papa John’s. (weak moment, don’t say anything) Anyway, as I was happily feasting on my 1/2 extra cheese 1/2 pepperoni, I saw a quote on the box. If my memory serves me correctly the quote was “what would you give up to fulfill your dreams?”
I am sure this had something to do with the founder John Schnatter selling his prized 1971 Z28 Camaro in order to purchase equipment in order to start up his first pizza shop.
I thought to myself, this is a pretty insightful question to be reading on a pizza box in the middle of my pig out. Well this got me thinking about what I had given up for my dreams to come true. I will ask you the same, What can you say that you have really “given up” for your dreams?
John sold his most prized possession,he rolled the dice on something he really wanted and won. Have you rolled the dice on yourself in order to make your dreams come true? Do you have a dream worthy of giving up your prized possession for?
Many people go through life pursuing a lifestyle but never truly pursuing their dreams.
Sacrifice adds to the pride you feel when you achieve something you set out to achieve. Sometimes the only way to reach one branch, is to let go of the other one.
I hear on a daily basis from people who would like to do this or would like to achieve that but they are not taking steps “real steps” in order to get what they say they would like to have. Sacrificing something that you love in order to invest in your future based on an idea or dream you may have takes tons of courage, confidence and persistence. No one ever said pursuing your dreams would be easy but I trust that it will all be worth it in the end.
Go pursue your dream starting today. Give up something to obtain something greater.
Best Wishes!
Oh, by the way I think Papa John’s is the best pizza from all the chains, hands down!

Jose,
Nice post! I thought you were going to say something about marketing and getting your ad onto pizza boxes… not a bad idea! Anyhow, what you did convey is good stuff too.
Thank you for sharing.

I show you the $1 tickets & the great value you get ($8 worth of coupons attached). You’re also told that even if you cannot come, the ticket purchase is a tax deduction and for a worthy cause. What do you do and why?

Hey Jose,
I like this post…people who are scared to take action might be thinking that they have to sacrifice massive things to succeed but really its about pruning your life, getting rid of all those areas of your life that aren’t adding any value.
Papa John might shoot themselves in the foot though…people might sacrifice pizza to achieve success lol. We dont have Papa Johns in the UK…but my dad is called John and so I have my own variety!.
Good Stuff

Wow, I didn’t know he sold his most prized possession to open the pizza shop. That’s a very cool story.
It is true that if you go for your dreams, it’ll take courage and faith. The interesting thing is it looks like you are sacrificing a lot at the time, then after a while, you realize not going for your dreams, and not doing what you love each day, means you are probably not spending time with the ones you love and not living life to it’s fullest. This truly is the ultimate sacrifice…because I believe you should live each day as if it was your last because one day, it will be.
Thank you so much for sharing Jose.
